EROS THANATOS AND KAINOS - page 13 & 14

Chart 3: Eros - Creative cycle

Within the Attachment space
There is a pattern common to
three of the many instinctual desires.
The desire for attachment and attuning
which according to Bowlby
is the most powerful desire of all.
Then the desire for play and exploration
at first between baby and mum
and later for every form of exploration
intellectual, artistic, scientific and crafts.
And finally the one which Freud put first
the desire for sexual love.

The pattern is a cycle of

NURTURING

ENERGISING

PEAK

and RELAXING

which is present

in attachment

play and exploration

and sexual relating.
